The shop of Sophie and Yohann
On the avenue Louis Lajarrige, at the corner of a tree-lined square, the bakery and pastry shop of Sophie & Yohann Martin is one of the local favourites. The plum and grey facade is visible from afar, with its signs Baker, Pastry Chef, Ice Cream Maker, and Caterer.
Inside, the display is wide and well-stocked: traditional and special breads, crispy baguettes, buttery pastries (croissants, pain au chocolat, chouquettes, brioches), and a whole range of individual pastries with meticulous finishes.
The address also stands out for its ice cream counter in season and a very handy catering service for an impromptu dinner.
In the square, just steps from the centre.
The shop is ideally located, in a pedestrian square lined with pines, just a stone's throw from the town centre of La Baule. You can stop by on your way to or from the beach, in the morning for bread, in the afternoon for a snack, or in the early evening to pick up a catering dish.
For special occasions (birthdays, christenings, dinners), the house makes desserts and pastries to order, to be arranged 24 to 48 hours in advance.
Weekly closure on Wednesdays · please check before visiting.

Antonin's advice
« My alternative to Emma on the shore is the station, especially for the slightly more elaborate individual pastries. I often get a small lemon meringue tart or a coffee éclair for a snack. In season, their artisan ice creams are definitely worth the stop. Be careful on Wednesdays: closed. »
