A gastronomic table in a castle
Nestled in the heart of the Domaine de la Bretesche, an ancient 15th-century castle converted into a 4-star hotel-castle with a golf course, Le Montaigu is one of the exceptional tables in the La Baule region.
The cuisine is creative gastronomic: a tasting menu with 6 courses, beautifully presented dishes, a play of textures and colours, and delicately prepared products (candied endives, light mousses, sweet-savoury pairings). The sommelier offers wine pairings with commentary, available as an option.
The restaurant is intimate, located in a vaulted room with a fireplace adorned with a large marine painting and driftwood trunks. Expect to spend one to several hours for the full menu · time is part of the pleasure.
The estate, a place for oneself
Before or after dinner, the domain park deserves a stroll: lake facing the château, tree-lined paths, French gardens with spiral topiaries, and even the 18-hole golf course winding through the woods.
If you stay several days in La Baule, the château-hotel also offers a romantic setting for an exceptional night, and a Sunday brunch open to non-residents.
Reservation is essential several days in advance · smart attire appreciated.

Antonin's advice
« My address for special occasions · wedding anniversary, marriage proposal, dinner for oneself. Arrive around 18:00 to enjoy the park and walk around the lake, then start the tasting menu at 19:00. Opt for the wine pairings, the sommelier is passionate. Remember to book several days in advance. If you stay on site, the Sunday brunch is also worth the trip. »
