The ocean as a backdrop
Situated at the Pointe Saint-Gildas, one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Côte de Jade, the restaurant La Flottille is the perfect stop after a walk on the customs path. The large covered terrace, sheltered from the wind, overlooks the ocean: on sunny days, you can see the bay of La Baule in the distance.
The cuisine is simple, generous and well-prepared: mussels from bouchot in cream or marinière, seafood sauerkraut (one of the signatures), sardines, fish of the day, as well as a wide choice of galettes and sweet crêpes for lovers of Breton cuisine.
The address is family-friendly and accessible, dogs are welcome, ideal for a lunch break after a morning at the beach.
Contemporary dining room and driftwood
The interior plays the contemporary seaside card: white driftwood panels as decorative partitions, navy blue and beige chairs, light wood tables, woven fibre chandeliers. The overall effect is bright and calming, in shades of grey, blue and beige.
On the menu, ice creams and sweet cups in season, fresh salads for those who prefer light meals, and a nice selection of flambéed crêpes for dessert.
Efficient service, reasonable prices, family atmosphere: La Flottille is worth a detour to Pointe Saint-Gildas.
Reservation recommended in season · especially for the terrace.

Antonin's advice
« A day to plan if you want to do it right: depart in the morning, walk on the customs path to the lighthouse, enjoy mussels and fries for lunch on the terrace of La Flottille facing the ocean, then a leisurely return along the coast. Be sure to reserve in July-August, especially for the terrace at sunset. »
